Happy Holidays! And a Roundup, with some Science-themed Media and a Few Jokes

Happy holidays, everyone!

There isn’t going to be a post next week, so this one’s going to have to count for both Christmas and New Years. I’ll try to include some funny stuff.

First up, this one should be appreciated by students everywhere:

Geek and Sundry did a Mad Scientist themed video a while back for their vlogs. Don’t try any of this at home. Seriously, don’t. Some of these can end very, very badly.

On the Weaponization of Flora and Fauna by Alec Austin & Marissa Lingen is a fantasy short story at Beneath Ceaseless Skies (naturally) in which most of the characters either study or have an interest in biology. Fantasy flavored, of course.

It follows an aristocrat of no particular import, a naturalist by trade, as she situates herself on an expedition to discover new species in the jungles past the King’s colonial lands. She’d just like to research the local birds and stay out of court politics, but with everyone around her vying for royal recognition, staying out of it might not be entirely possible.

And lastly, something a little more esoteric:
